Maternity Bras & Lingerie

Women who have worn the same bra size for years may find it difficult to break down and purchase a new bra, in a new size, during pregnancy. But not only is it likely that a new size will be necessary, there are features offered by maternity bras that will make pregnancy, and post-partum, much more comfortable and convenient.

Maternity bras are typically full-fit. While they can still be sexy, they are meant to be comfortable, and functional, at a time when these things are of the utmost importance. Breast tissue often becomes very sensitive during pregnancy, and a good maternity bra will offer supportive panels and extremely soft fabric. Wider straps are also helpful for the added support that pregnancy requires.

Most maternity bras are also nursing bras. Nursing bras feature one-handed release clasps at the top of each cup. Skin-to-skin contact is healthy for infants, therefore the larger the nursing flap the better.

For casual wear, and even sleep, a pregnant woman should have a sports bra-styled maternity bra. The luxurious comfort of a one piece jersey bra with wide supportive panels will be a welcome experience to any new mum.

Maternity lingerie may seem like an oxymoron to many pregnant women. However, pregnancy is sexy; it requires little effort to make it more so. Keeping with the trend of comfort, a pregnant woman can match either her jersey maternity bra, or a pretty bump hugging camisole (with shelf bra) with a cute pair of hot pants.

Pregnancy can be uncomfortable at times, lessening a woman’s ability to feel pretty and sexy. The comfort of a good maternity bra, and maternity sleepwear, can change her whole outlook, and give her just the boost she needs.
